I'm sure their current game development work is very smooth considering they just steal whatever asserts they need.

Well since it's apparently one guy COVID can't have changed much for his production schedule. I tried the steam version and while it doesn't look nearly as good as that, the gameplay was fun enough to see how it could be something cool

Thought of Red Steel every time I see this game...much prettier of course.

Ohh.
Like which assets?
I followed this guy shortly after the OG Bright Memory was a thing, and since Infinite has been going i havent seen any stolen assets.
You mind pointing out the stolen assets he has used?

The dev was caught stealing assets.

That hasnt anything to do with this game. At that time he got "free assets" from somewhere and put that in the game. They were stolen in the end.
When he found out. He removed those and changed that original ones.
This was all about the first demo. Bright Memory.

Apparently he addressed the matter back when it was reported in 2018, but who knows? We'll have to wait and see whether or not this version has any issues related to this. I would expect not, since they're being backed by MS.

I tried the RTX benchmark on my laptop with an RTX 2070 and it did pretty great and looked great. RTX + DLSS performed pretty nice (>60fps and it was pretty consistent)
However, the benchmark != real gameplay (imo) so it remains to be seen how it will really perform + the scale in the benchmark isn't really precise xD.

This is one of those games that looks amazing every time I see it, but then I remember it's one person making it, and immediately wonder what the "catch" is going to be in the end.

I think it's important to note that Bright Memory and Bright Memory Infinite are 2 different games. The one one Steam atm is Bright Memory. This are pics of Bright Memory Infinite which is still in development.

Apparently (from the link shared here) He self-confessed to stealing enemy model assets for a different game due to lack of funds, and pledged to replace all the models after the success of the game. He's also committed to apologizing to the rights owners and has hired more hands for this next game.
This is a different game. Unless you have any proof that he stole assets for this game, this isn't a claim you should make.

Isn't bright memory also launching with xsx? Like not infinite but just the OG?

People have elaborated where you haven't, and it's clear the context in which it happened isn't as you paint it out to be. Unless you have new information about the devs work, kindly lay off the theft accusations.

Catch rhymes with Notch 🤔 no wait it doesn't. See this is why I'm not a rapper.
seriously though for one person this is very impressive for a next gen title too.

I don't remember hearing anything about this game before, but what I'm seeing of it here has been one of the only next-gen releases to interest me.

Is it UE?

So it's not a one person effort anymore, how many people are on the team?

This game looks dope. Love the mix of mobility, guns and Sword-play, and the visuals look incredible for a game started by one guy.
I've always wanted to try it on PC, but think I'll grab Bright Memory on launch day on XSX.

Yeah I don't think infinite is still a solo project but it's hard to find exact numbers of how many people are working on it.

Very surprised to see that this game costs £6.69. That seems incredibly cheap?
Edit: my mistake, that's the console port of Bright Memory (the original)
