We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Supply Chain Director of Planning & Procurement within our Bedding team to help support our Adjustable Bed business. As a Supply Chain Director of Planning and Procurement, you will have the opportunity to oversee the planning and purchasing functions for the Adjustable Bed Group. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by interfacing with stakeholders outside of the planning and purchasing organization to understand business needs and develop the internal capabilities to support those needs. The team you will be working with is collaborative, close knit, and values challenging work and diversity of thought.

So, what will you be doing as a Supply Chain Director of Planning and Procurement?

  • Work closely with operations team to support requirements and objectives
  • Work closely with the Director of Supply Chain - Sourcing on new product launches and ramp downs.
  • Recommend new processes or system improvements. Implement new ideas and strategies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators to ensure efficiency of department.
  • Lead the business inventory planning process and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Lead monthly Supply Forecasting Process including demand planning, central production planning, supply forecasting process, supplier forecasting process.
  • Oversee the management of the Planning and Purchasing Teams.
  • Ensure the Purchasing team has the tools available for weekly review of inventory for ordering and inventory management at all locations.
  • Oversee the procurement of all materials required for company operations.
  • Determine strategic inventory plans that achieve business inventory commitments, while balancing customer lead time/business OTD requirements
  • Interact with product management/sales on new product launches to ensure on time efficient launches are achieved.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Finance or another related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role; 10+ years total relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to challenging and changing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written) required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong financial, mathematical, modeling, and analytical skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and time-management skills; flexibility and ability to coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Advanced experience with multiple supply bases, forecasting, scheduling, and inventory control
  • Proven leadership/management skills, including the ability to effectively coach, motivate, empower, develop, and evaluate employees.
