Chapter 14: Autogyro Adventure - Skylanders Giants Guide - IGN (2024)

Jump in the Arkeyan Autogyro and prepare for a long flying chapter. You can move the Autogyro up, down, left, and right, but not forward or backward.

The Caverns

Fly your way through the caverns. Look out for energy beams and anything you can crash into. You can collect some loot as you fly through the area as well.

The path will stop at a big door. Shoot the golden circular locks to unlock the door and continue on.

Keep flying through the caverns until you reach another locked door. This time you'll have to shoot the Arkeyan Droid to the left and land the Autogyro. Grab the floating item to the left and place it on the object to the right. This will unlock the door, allowing you to continue on.

If you see a glowing white landing pad, fly above it to land the Autogyro. Each glowing landing pad will have an area to explore.

The first landing pad is right after the opened door. It leads to an elementally locked area.

Forgotten Hollows

This area is elementally locked. Use an Undead Skylander to progress.

Up ahead are a few Trog Pinchers. They're not too tough if you keep your distance. Defeat them and use the bounce pad in the back to the next area.

At the top are a few push blocks. Push them all in the direction their arrows are pointing. One block can be pushed all the way off the side. Walk off the side and land on the block to find a hidden cave.

Hidden Crypt

This hidden crypt contains a Treasure Chest. Crack it open and exit out.

Forgotten Hollows (Continued)

Return to the push blocks and continue up the path. Eventually, you'll be ambushed by two Chop Chops. Like all ambushes, focus on one enemy at a time to make things easier.

After defeating the Chop Chops, continue on up the path. Walk with the spinning blades ahead so you don't get hurt by them. At the end of the path is a Hat. This particular hat is the Future Hat. It increases speed by 10. With that in hand, use the transport pad to return to the start of the area. Head back to the Autogyro and continue on.

Continue flying until you see another landing pad on the right side of the caverns.

Cold Storage Area Z

Three Arkeyan Duelists will be at the start. Defeat at least one to bring a few more monsters, including a Blaze Brewer and Arkeyan Bomber. Use the Bomber's bombs to help defeat all the other enemies, and keep your distance!

Defeat all the enemies to lower the gate at the end of the path. At the end is the Propeller Masthead Legendary Treasure. With that in hand, continue on to the Autogryo.

Another landing can be found extremely close. It will be on the left side of the caverns. This door will be elementally locked.

Neverending Falls

This area is elementally locked. Use a Water Skylander to continue. Inside is a Hat. This hat is the Bottle Cap Hat, which increases Armor by 15.

Return to the Autogyro and continue on.

Continue on in the Autogyro until you reach another door. Another Arkeyan droid will be positioned behind a shield. To the right of the droid is a missile launcher that will pop up every now and then. Shoot this launcher to bring a missile power up out. Grab the power up to fire two sets of missiles at the droid. Clear the area to enter the door in the back.

Maze of Myth

This area boosts the power of Magic Skylanders.

Enter the area and fight the Arkeyan Duelist. You should have fought him already earlier in this chapter. Watch out for his big sword attacks. Attack from afar or from behind. Defeat him and two more will come. Defeat all three Duelists to continue on.

Ahead is a crystal and energy beam puzzle of sorts. Use the first lever once to move the crystal to the right. Use the second lever five times to move the next crystal. This will bring the platform with the key. Take this key to the North Western part of this cave to open the door in The Cavern. To the left of the lock is a stair way to some type of computer or robot. Interact with it to play a game of Skystones. This game may be a bit tougher than other games. There are four elemental squares on the board.

Before you can exit, a few more enemies will come out. Defeat them and continue on to the Autogyro.

The Cavern will quickly lead to a new area. Don't forget about picking up loot and loot multipliers as you fly through the caverns.

The Source

This area is a small cave that can be flown around. If you do choose to fly around and pick up items, avoid the giant robots and water falls, as they will all cause damage to the Autogyro.

When you're ready, continue on to the next part of The Cavern.

Keep flying through the cavern until you reach another locked door. This time you'll have to fight a few copters. Destroying them will cause them to drop health and missile power ups. Use the missile power ups to destroy the shields over the gold circles that unlock the door. When the shields are down, hit the gold locks with your regular laser.

The next landing pad will be on the right side of the cavern.

Auric's Hidden Vault

This room has a Treasure Chest in front. Auric and his shop are set in the back. He'll be selling:

When you're ready, continue on through the Cavern.

Continue through the long cavern picking up loot and power ups. At the end is another locked door with an Arkeyan Droid. Shoot the missile launchers that pop up to collect missiles, then use these missiles on the droid and the shields he's hiding behind. Clear the area to land and continue through the door in the back.

Hall of Silence

This area boosts the power of Air Skylanders.

Ahead are two Arkeyan Bombers and an Arkeyan Shield Juggernaut. Use the bombers to help destroy the juggernaut if you need to. Avoid the juggernaut's laser at all costs, it will do massive damage. Defeat the enemies to open the path to the right.

To the right are two crystals, but there's no energy beam. Even though you don't have an energy beam, you can still fix up part of the puzzle. Push the push-able crystal to the left until it hits the left wall. Continue up the path to the next crystal.

At the end of the path is half of the device that opens up the gate. Nearby are two more Arkeyan Duelists and an Arkeyan Bomber. Defeat them to lower the gate to the left. Through the gate is a lever that moves a crystal down below. Use the level four times to move the energy beam to the crystals ahead. The next thing to do is retrieve the key and set it in the device to unlock the door.

On the way to the key you'll face more Arkeyan Duelists and a Shield Juggernaut. Defeat them to lower the gate and continue to the key. Unlock the door and return to the Autogyro.

Take the short path to the next landing pad. This pad will be on the left side of the caverns.

Cold Storage Area A

This is a small cave that holds both a Treasure Chest and a Story Scroll entitled, “Wilikin Neighbors?”

Exit out of this room and return to The Caverns.

Take another short drive to the next landing pad. Again, it will be on the left side of the caverns.

Cold Storage Area B

This area contains a few smash-able objects with loot. In the back is a Soul Gem for Jet-Vac. If you got the Soul Gem for Tree Rex in the last chapter, you'll unlock the Soul Surfer achievement / trophy right here.

Return to the Autogyro and continue on.

Continue through the cave until you reach another locked door. This time there will be two droids behind three shields, plus copters will fly out towards you. Destroy the copters to pick up missiles, which are needed to destroy the shields. Clear out the landing pad to land the Autogyro. Enter the door in the back to unlock the big door in the caverns.

Gear Box

This area will boost the power of Magic Skylanders. There aren't any horrible monsters to deal with at first, only little Trog Pinchers.

This crystal puzzle is pretty simple. Use the first lever to move the energy to the platform with the key. The platform won't reach you just yet, due to the spinning cog to the right. Walk up the path and move the second crystal over to stop the cog from interrupting the first energy beam. Now the platform with the key will float over to you.

Grab the key and use the lever nearby six more times to move the energy beam to the platform on the left. This will bring the Luck-O-Tron Wheel over.

With the key in hand, use it to unlock the door. When you return to the Cavern, a big Crystal Golem will appear. This is a tough monster to deal with! Remember, break all the crystals surrounding it to destroy its armor, then damage the monster itself.

After defeating the monster, return to the Autogyro and continue on.

The Long Hall

An achievement / trophy is attached to this area. If you can collect all 16 speed boosts here, you'll unlock the Pedal to the Metal achievement / trophy. The speed boosts are the shiny purple things floating in the air. This is incredibly easy. Just follow the loot rings to find each speed boost.

At the end of the path is another locked door. Destroy the copters and missile launchers that pop up to earn missile power ups. Collect these power ups and use the missiles to blast the door locks.

Continue on until the Autogyro stops again. Do the same song and dance with the droids and missiles to land on the pad.

The Machine

This area boosts the power of Water Skylanders.

Up the path are three Arkeyan Duelists and two Arkeyan Bombers. Defeat a Duelist and more will come. Try to use the Bomber's bombs to help take out all the Duelists, or use attacks that can hit multiple enemies in this small area. Defeat the Duelists and two Blaze Brewers will jump the gate. Defeat the Blaze Brewers to open the gate to the right.

Interact with the contraption passed the gate. This will lower the next gate to the North. Up the path is a fork in the road. Take the path to the right to find a transport pad. Use this pad to find the last Treasure Chest of the chapter. Return by means of the transport pad and continue on ahead.

Ahead is a push block puzzle. Step on the transport pad to get sent into the middle of the puzzle. This may seem like a tough puzzle, but it really isn't. Push all the blocks in the direction of their arrows, with the exception of the bottom right block, then push the top left block back into place. Step on the second transport pad to reach the top of the blocks, and walk from block to block by the corners. Make a full circle to pick up the Winged Sapphire. If you still need help on how the blocks should look, see the images below.

Use the bounce pad to continue on. Up ahead is another Crystal Golem. Defeat this guy to open a gate to another mechanism. Interact with it to unlock another gate to another enemy, the Arkeyan Shield Juggernaut. Keep defeating monsters and lowering gates until you reach the end.

Return to the Autogyro and prepare for the home stretch.

Final Tour of Duty

Now for the final cavern. Use all the speed boosts you have to quickly go through this area. Continue to pick up more speed boosts, and dodge anything that may damage you. Reach the end to complete the chapter and unlock the Copter Captain achievement / trophy.

The Dread-Yacht

When you return to Cap'n Flynn's Ship, check the Crane Deck to find a Winged Sapphire! Don't forget to raid Auric's vault, as well.
